The self-taught pianist, organist and composer, Alexander Hawkins, is the fastest emerging voice in contemporary experimental UK jazz - 'unlike anything else in modern creative music' (Ni Kantu). His work as a bandleader has been called 'some of the most vividly distinctive in modern jazz' (The Jazzman), whilst he also frequently appears alongside the likes of Louis Moholo-Moholo, Mulatu Astatke, Joe McPhee and Evan Parker. His Trio with Neil Charles and Tom Skinner has been running for many years, and in April they launch their new album, out on Babel.
