The internationally acclaimed saxophonist Jesper Thilo has since the early 1960s positioned himself as a colossal in both the Danish and European jazz landscape. As part of the Arnvid Meyers Orchestra, DR's Big Band and various ensembles of national and international character, Jesper Thilo has made a significant impression on Danish jazz and always guaranteed music on top of the scale. He was the first to receive the Ben Webster award in 1977. A prize that was awarded to Olivier Antunes in 1999. Thilo and Antunes began their telepathic collaboration in 1995, where the mere 22-year-old Olivier entered the big scene along with the already internationally recognized Thilo. The mentor and protegé relationship has resulted in musical sparks over the years. The combination of Thilo's hot, crisp and melodic saxophone with Antunes' youthful, potent and temperamental piano forms an exquisite cocktail that any jazz connoisseur will enjoy. Not least when they are accompanied by the two virtuosos; Thomas Fonnesbæk on bass and Janus Templeton on drums....
