Duoen MITÚ, der er prisbelønnet som “Colombia’s Best Electronic Act”, udgøres af percussionisten Franklin Tejedor og Julián Salazar på synths. Både Tejedor og Salazar har begge markeret sig som nogle af tidens vigtigste musikere på den colombianske elektroniske scene, og beskriver selv, ganske rammende, projektet MITÚ som “psychedelic techno from the jungle”. I møder mellem århundreder gamle colombianske musiktraditioner og hektiske elektroniske udskejelser, tager duoen sin lytter med på en afrofuturistisk rejse til et fremtidens Palenque. MITÚ har skabt et helt originalt musikalsk sprog og byder på svært fængende numre, som det er næsten umuligt at stå stille til.
Siden 2011 har MITÚ turneret i Europa, USA og Sydamerika på festivaller som BIME (Bilbao), Lollapalooza (Chile), Lollapalooza (Argentina, MaMA Paris, Sónar Bogotá, Womad (UK) og Gather Festival i Stockholm. Albummet “Cosmus” (ZZK Records, 2017) blev hædret som årets bedste colombianske album i Shock Magazine og blev desuden rost til skyerne i bl.a. Rolling Stone, Noisey og NPR.
MITÚ er klar med deres nye album “Los Angeles” (ZZK Records, 2018) og spiller i den anledning deres første danske koncert nogensinde. Der er altså god grund til at kridte danseskoene og glæde sig til MITÚ gæster ALICE til november.
