Tomas Franck 60th Birthday Celebration ft. Anders Bergcrantz at Jazzhus Montmartre

Tomas Franck is with a doubt a giant of jazz. As a saxophonist and composer, he has been one of the greatest personalities in a Danish jazz scene for several decades. He is definitely a musician of a very special format, which only appears with a lot of years in between. In the occasion of his 60th birthday we have have the honor of celebrating him at Montmartre! Franck has collected a superb team of music friends for three magnificent concerts. Franck grew up in Sweden, but moved as young to Denmark, where he started his career. He has since been in DR Big Band, performed as a soloist and as a sideman for e.g. Pat Metheny and Roy Haynes....

For this concert, the trumpeter Anders Bergcrants will join on stage along with a team of great Swedish stars!


Tomas Franck er intet mindre end en jazz-gigant. Som saxofonist og komponist har han i flere årtier været en af de største personligheder på en danske jazzscene. Han er bestemt en musiker af et helt særligt format, som kun dukker op med mange års mellemrum. I anledningen af hans 60-års fødselsdag har vi fået æren af fejre ham på Montmartre! Franck har samlet et suverænt hold af musikervenner til tre storslåede koncerter. Franck voksede op i Sverige, men flyttede som ung til Danmark, hvor han startede sin karriere. Han har siden været med i DR Big Band, optrådt som solist samt som sideman for bl.a. Pat Metheny og Roy Haynes.
