Den amerikanske guitarist, pianist og komponist Ralph Towner har været skabende medlem af to banebrydende vestamerikanske akustiske grupper, Paul Winter Consort og Oregon. Hans samarbejde med bl.a. Gary Burton, John Abercrombie og Weather Report, og ikke mindst en lang række udgivelser på det respekterede pladeselskab ECM, har cementeret Towners ry som en af den akustiske guitars absolutte mestre.
