After putting out their 4th album “Los Angeles” (ZZK Records, 2018) last year, MITÚ visited Denmark for the first time and played an intense concert at ALICE. Kom med på en svimlende afrofuturistisk rejse til fremtidens Palenque! Den colombianske elektroniske duo MITU vender tilbage til Nørrebro med deres psykedeliske jungle-techno og fejrer release for deres femte studiealbum. Koncerten er en del af Global Dance Nights.
Siden MITU tog sine spæde skridt i 2011 er der sket meget for den colombianske duo, der med rette blev prisbelønnet som “Colombia’s Best Electronic Act” sidste år. Med Franklin Tejedor på percussion og Julián Salazar på synths, har MITÚ markeret sig som et af tidens vigtigste navne på den latinamerikanske elektroniske scene ved siden af bl.a. Nicola Cruz, Chancha Via Circuito og Dengue Dengue Dengue.
Tejedor og Salazar beskriver selv, ganske rammende, deres musik som “psychedelic techno from the jungle”. Med et originalt musikalsk sprog vækker MITÚ ældgamle colombianske musiktraditioner til live med smittende samples og energiske elektroniske rytmer, og tager publikum med på en afrofuturistisk rejse til en farvestrålende tropisk fest i et fremtidens Palenque.
Siden 2011 har MITÚ spillet på festivaler i Europa, USA og Sydamerika, og de åbnede i november 2018 for legendariske New Order på et udsolgt Alexandria Palace i London. Duoens album “Cosmus” (ZZK Records, 2017) blev hædret som årets bedste colombianske album i Shock Magazine og blev desuden rost til skyerne i bl.a. Rolling Stone, Noisey og NPR. Udgivelsen af deres fjerde album “Los Angeles” (ZZK Records, 2018) bragte MITÚ til Danmark for første gang sidste år, hvor de spillede et medrivende dansesæt på ALICE.
Når MITÚ vender tilbage til Nørrebro til november, er det altså for at fejre udgivelsen af deres femte studiealbum med et udvidet live-set. Koncerten er en del af Global Dance Nights.
